Don't let this
happen to us
A group of people from
various neighborhoods in our area have joined
together to create a plan of action for resident
feedback to Dade City and Pasco County officials
concerning growth and development in the
northeast portion of our county. We see this area
as extending from State Road 52 in San Antonio
north to the county line and from Bellamy
Brothers Boulevard east to the county line. Many
of us want to see the rural character of our
beautiful countryside preserved to the extent
that it is possible to do so. There are many aesthetic, historic and environmental
reasons to
protect this "crown jewel" of Pasco County. While we realize that a "no
growth" policy is impossible, we are hopeful
that with support, we can have a strong voice in
decision-making policies
We believe that it is every person's
right to profit from the sale of their property. To that end,
we are exploring ways in which green space can be preserved
through the purchase of development rights, farmland
preservation programs, etc.
As a group, our goal is to create an
official overlay to Pasco County's Comprehensive Land Use Plan
to assure that our area will grow in a sustainable way and one
that will not destroy our quality of
life.
There are several ways
in which you can add your voice. Give us
your thoughts, ideas and concerns and email our
county commissioners and let them know that you
share our vision.
